Hello Partners,
Outreach—Faith Family Church Style!!!
At the beginning of the year, the FTTN Young Adults (YA) Team ’10, joined us and Faith Family Church (FFC) for a week of outreach, ministry, and fellowship. Pastor Kevin Cole kicked off the events with a seminar on Outreach Evangelism.
The team, along with the church, hit the streets of Hong Kong—armed with “FREE Live Concert Tickets.”
They passed out hundreds of concert tickets and witnessed to all that would listen. Right there on the streets, many Chinese gave their hearts to Jesus as the team prayed with them. Others returned and received salvation at the concert or in the weeks following.
Since the beginning of the year at FFC, almost every week, someone has given their heart to Jesus on a Sunday morning service or at a Wednesday night Life Group meeting!!!
The excitement escalated as everyone returned from the street outreach. Some of the Chinese shrieked as they re-entered the church, overwhelmed by the transformation of their “mild-mannered church” into a pulsating, cloud-filled, light-controlled, concert stage!
Naiah spearheaded the band made of Fischers, FFM staff, FTTN team members, and FFC Chinese as the church worshiped and the visitors watched with intrigue…
Steve shared…the team performed a drama…and when prayer was offered at the end, the people came—and many came…some to receive salvation!!!
It was a night that will live long in the hearts of many…and be the first of many to come…
Every year we look forward to the YA Team’s return as they move massive amounts of materials. This year, their efforts were never more appreciated as our Chinese friends were elated to receive the long overdue “back-ordered” supplies.
Due to the global financial situation and fewer “donkeys for Jesus,” supplies are at an all-time low. Numerous requests from Chinese Churches—asking for any kind of Christian materials are regrettably replied, “NO SUPPLIES AVAILABLE…”
This couple (pictured below, left side; dark blue sweatshirt, and holding the old baby) is very special to us as this is their third FTTN missions trip. On their first trip, they were friends…on their second, they were engaged…on this trip, they were married—with their first child!
Just as interesting is their background…He is Hungarian, and as a young child, along with his family, actually escaped from the former Soviet Union. She is Korean and was adopted as baby by a US family. They met at church. They are currently making plans to become full-time missionaries.
—When God Says—“GO”…There Are No Excuses!
The team is off to Kunming along with—5 Chinese FFC members—loaded with “supplies” they head to the train station. On the train they get comfortable for the 24 hour trip, as the friendly train director sees that we leave on time…
Southwestern China is most beautiful…As we often say, “Like watching the National Geographic channel through the train window.”
In Kunming, we hooked up with our Western “friends”…
They have a coffee shop and a training camp and we helped them “fix some things up.”
At the camp—pruning an orchard…
At the coffee shop…cleaning…and painting…and cleaning…and something with wires…and cleaning—or eating…
In the evenings, the team joined English Corners, and as usual, being the only Westerners, were surrounded by Chinese eagerly waiting to test their “English”—on the real thing.
In the open-air English corner (two pictures on the left), the team the turned conversations towards Jesus Christ and several people received salvation.
In the picture on the far right, there is something very interesting about the young Chinese boy intently listening to Kevin.
He is a Chinese Muslim—or was—until that evening! Kevin and his Chinese FFC interpreter carefully “explained” the Gospel to him…after asking a few questions and listening intently to the answers—he said, I want to become a Christian!!! They prayed the prayer of salvation with him…To God be the Glory!!!
The team visited the “Native Tribes Village” an Epcot Center-like park, where all the Native Chinese tribes in Southwestern China and their lifestyles, are showcased.
And what happens when you get a bunch of ‘New Yorkers’ together with the Traditional Native Chinese??? Well…
There were lots of Fun activities…and…the new basketball player China is about to release to the NBA…YAU SHAQ!!!
The team returns to Hong Kong and spends its last day visiting Downtown Waterfront……the open double-decker bus…
…and the Peak…
…the Last Supper…Pizza Hut with many from FFC…and the Goodbyes…
Thank You—FTTN Young Adults Team ‘10’!!!
These are the Last Days!!!
Don’t Miss Out on Being a Part of the Greatest Harvest Of Souls—EVER;
Sow Into It—Or Personally Come and Be a Part Of It!!!
Exciting Days Lie Ahead…This is the Church’s Finest Hour…
