We just completed another seminar called “Mountain Moving Faith” in
Hong Kong. Those who came were very blessed and the reoccurring
comments were, “I’ve never heard these things before” and, “Your
teaching is so simple.” Also, numerous denominations were again
represented in the audience and all seemed to receive with joy, as
even some mentioned they would take these teachings back to their
churches and share them with others.
Nothing thrills us more than to hear comments such as these as over
the years we have assembled numerous teaching series (all with
Cantonese Translation) on “Word of Faith” subjects. Through them
the Hong Kong believers are now able to receive easy-to-understand,
“How To” teaching, so they too, may live victorious lives. Many
first time attendees buy every CD we have available as they are so
excited to hear more of this Victorious life in Christ.
Sharmin and the boys began each meeting with praise and worship and
to Sharmin’s delight a member from the visiting US team played the
drums.

Steve led off with the teaching followed by our guest from Atlanta, GA, Pastor Jason Gratehouse.

In the picture on the left Steve uses a young attendee in an illustration and the in the picture on the right, “The Believer’s Authority” in Traditional Chinese characters.
At the conclusion of the seminar, some of the team members who were also ministers prayed with the Chinese

The visiting group from GA, TX, and FL, made many crossings into
Mainland China with Bibles and teaching material. Due to the
upcoming Olympics the Chinese government has eased restrictions for
China entry Visas. US citizens may now get 6 month or one year,
multiple entry Visas—this means unlimited trips across the
border!!!

At an evening “English Corner” at a Chinese software manufacturing company, one of the largest groups ever was waiting for us and each team member had several people to share with.

After several days of numerous border crossings, the group loaded up with materials and boarded a train for Shenyang. This is one of the long hauls taking about 40 hours on the train, but this group was a like a “band of brothers” and endured “like good soldiers.”

Once on the train, it’s time to get comfortable and maybe meet some of the fellow travelers.

When you travel over fifteen hundred miles northward in China, in
November, you’re likely to have a change in temperature. When we
left sunny Hong Kong it was 70 degrees, but when we arrived Shenyang
it was below freezing, and later that afternoon a cold front moved
in and the temperature dropped another 20 degrees and it began to
snow.
Upon our arrival, our faithful Chinese brothers were there to meet
us and escort us and our “precious materials” to the hotel.

Steve and Joab had an uneasy moment as their van turned the last corner approaching the hotel. Sitting in front of the hotel was a police car with two police officers sitting inside (rare). Steve and Joab had the team unload the van and hastily skirt into the hotel…and the police officers…just sat there…and did nothing…Oh well, maybe they just wanted to stay warm???

An hour later the team headed back out to visit an orphanage. This
particular orphanage is run by two dear Christian ladies, (one
American and one Korean) who truly love these kids and are
selflessly committed to them. The children are often abandon and
are all handicapped in some way.
The team befriended the children and they were thrilled to receive
the attention. Because Shenyang is in the extreme northern part of
China, and the orphanage itself is on the outside edge of town,
outsiders seldom visit here and these kids get little attention, but
this team made sure they would not be forgotten.
The girl in the picture on the left was abandoned because of a
serious facial defect. Sister Elaine (the American director) has
helped her get cosmetic surgery and it looks like she will be
adopted soon. The girl in the middle picture is Lizzy; she is deaf
and dumb but has the most beautiful smile. She remembers Joab from
an earlier visit two years ago. No one adopted her as a child and
she is now past the age the Chinese govt will let her be adopted.
So she now helps the younger children and does other chores at the
orphanage.

The team also visited an ancient Chinese palace, (one that a Chinese emperor actually ruled from several hundred years ago) and saw a few of the modern monuments built by the Communist party now ruling China.

In the evening, we ate a meal with our Chinese contacts and the
directors from the orphanage. Our main Chinese contact shared his
testimony with the group and they listened intently as he shared how
he burned his face trying to fuel a tractor at night. He went
through many difficulties as medical help is very difficult to get
without money. He tried many ways to sustain a living including
begging, but nothing would work. He was at a point of total despair
and even considered taking his life when someone shared Jesus with
him and he got saved. Finding new purpose for living, he works for
a Western medical doctor and helps poor Chinese people to get
medical treatment.
Another surprise occurred when our waiters and waitresses suddenly
disappeared and reappeared in choir robes. They sang for us
beautiful Christian hymns in the Chinese language. We then found
out that the owner of the restaurant, and most of its employees,
were Christians and they regularly “shared their faith” to the
restaurant guests by singing Christian songs.

Life on the streets of Shenyang.

A big “thanks” to the Shenyang team—
