Greetings from Hong Kong! The end of 2006
was quite a thriller!!!
The greatest change of all was the move that
occurred the day after we returned to Hong
Kong from preaching in the USA. After 3
years of our 700sqft flat, one bath used by
6 people, a squeezed kitchen, and all 4 kids
in a 9X7 bedroom—we saw the truly greatness
of God’s blessing come to our family.
A friend of ours purchased a sofa from
people who were moving out of the house
which we now live in. When he saw the
house, he told us, he heard in his heart,
“this house is for the Fischers”, so he
inquired if it was for rent (which it was,
and not yet advertised) and then immediately
came and told us. The rest is history.
The house also has a beautiful view of the
bay and is very quite and peaceful. Most
Chinese do not like living in an area like
this as it is remote (they like to live close together) and you need a vehicle
to get to it (of which we were blessed with
at the beginning of the year).
In the picture below, our old 700sqft “flat”
is on the bottom, left half, floor of the
building.
In the picture on the right, the entire
building is ours consisting of 1800sqft.

A few days after we retuned from the US, a group from Florida came out to help us—and boy did they ever! On their second day here, they made a border crossing in the morning and then came to our old house and helped us move and cleaned the rest of the day.
Sharmin, Naiah, and Pastor Violet Steffle ministered at a service with the HK Chinese and then did several more border crossings and an English Corner outreach.
They then headed out to Nanning, a city several hundred miles west of Hong Kong with a load of study Bibles, teaching material, and Children’s material. After reaching Nanning, they headed out to another town where they would deliver their “gifts”.

People you meet on your journey through the countryside of Nanning.

…And what beautiful countryside.

In the picture on the left, Sharmin is with our Chinese friend and missionary who we support. She is from and grew up in the Nanning area and after marrying and residing in Hong Kong, felt in her heart she needed to go back and help her people. She started an orphanage and assists the Chinese believers in the
house churches in the area. Her husband, a Westerner, travels and preaches throughout the Province and beyond.
They have three boys all under 12 years old.
The team dropped off their goods and spent time with the kids in the orphanage. Most of the kids are found living alone on the streets and
she takes them in. She faces many challenges and frequent hassles keeping her home for homeless children open, but after spending a little time with the kids, you can understand why she doesn’t quit.

The two girls below really warmed up to Sharmin and Jasmine. Sharmin said the girl on the left wouldn’t stop touching her and followed her everywhere she went. Jasmine fixed her hair and she thought it was the greatest. Sharmin said the girl in the middle used to be very shy and wouldn’t smile during her last visit, but through
our Missionary friends loving care has come out of her shell and is blossoming into a beautiful young girl as evident by the glow in her countenance. In the third picture are the group with the kids and the care workers.

The team also ministered in an underground church. Many took turns sharing with the Chinese in attendance.

The team prayed with and ministered individually to the Chinese believers as they could and then posed for
one final picture.

Thank you partners for all you do! We love
and appreciate you for enabling us to serve
the Chinese!!!
Thank you for your continued prayers and
support. We are here as an extension of
you!!!
