China Country Trip

Back

We’ve recently returned from several trips into China.  In April, Sharmin and Joab took a group with materials into
China to a city in the Guangxi Province located approximately 300 miles west of Hong Kong.
There they visited orphanages and ministered in several house churches.

Below is the group they led and the materials they took with them.                           In the third picture is our Chinese guide/interpreter and her parents.

The beautiful countryside in the Guangxi Province.

They visited an orphanage in the pictures below.  Some of these children were abandoned by their parents for various reasons and left to wander the streets, fending for themselves.  One of the children in these pictures told stories of how his only source of food was eating out of garbage cans and how he would sleep in any little “hole” that would give him protection from the elements.

The boy in the pictures on the right is celebrating his first birthday!  Obviously he’s not 1 year old, but he has never had a birthday cake or party.  The orphanage workers estimate him to be 13 years old now.

Sharmin said he just starred at the cake when they set it before him as though he just couldn’t comprehend “this was all in his honor”.  Tears welled up in his eyes, as he slowly realized the truth; then, he gradually smiled and blew out the candles.

They were also able to visit a house church.  Here Sharmin is preaching to the group.
Joab and some of the others also shared.

Sharmin is giving some of the books and stuffed animals to the children.

They were able to pray for several people.
The man on the left was a preacher who walked many miles a week as he ministered in different towns.

In May, we held another seminar entitled “The 5-fold ministry”.  Pastor Dave Bush from Orlando FL came out to help us teach.  The seminar was a great success again with over 80 people attending from over 20 churches throughout Hong Kong.  At the conclusion, we prayed for and laid hands on many Chinese that desired to answer the call to step into a ministry position.

Joab and Naiah are still leading border crossings into Mainland China several times a week.  Our girls have been busy with several litters of kittens that were born just behind our house.

Thank you partners for all you do!  We love and appreciate you for enabling us to serve the Chinese.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.  We are here as an extension of you!!!
